#EndSARS: UK parliament may debate petition against Nigeria as 148,000 sign

No fewer than 148,864 individuals have signed a petition asking the United Kingdom to sanction members of the Nigerian government and police force for human rights abuses over the #EndSARS movement.

This was as of 09.20am when our correspondent visted official webiste of the British parliarment.

The petition, which was created by one Silas Ojo, seeks to generate 100,000 signatures.

According to information obtained from the website, any petition signed by over 100,000 individuals will be discussed.

It stated that a date for debate would be announced on the peition.

It reads, “Parliament will consider this for a debate. Parliament considers all petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures for a debate

“Government will respond. Government responds to all petitions that get more than 10,000 signatures.”
